Radioanalytical pyrolyser / sample combustion system for extraction of volatile radionuclides A radioanalytical pyrolyser / sample combustion system will be acquired for the Faculty of Science, University of Helsinki. The system will be used for preparation of environmental, decommissioning, and radioactive-waste related samples for determination of volatile radionuclides, particularly H-3 and C-14, and preferably also Cl-36 and I-129. Expected sample matrices include environmental materials, ion-exchange resins, sludges, concrete, and other solid or liquid materials. The intended routine workload is at least 6 samples per working day, with higher throughput sometimes required. The system should be capable of use with low-activity samples; therefore, the ability to process larger sample masses and/or combine multiple preparations into a single measurement fraction is advantageous.,
